If you lack the experience, we have found that taking photographs during events can be a real challenge. Everything happens in a matter of seconds and there are never second chances to capture that precious moment in a photograph.
It is essential to be fast and efficient while being as professional as possible and avoiding disruptions during the event’s proceedings. With our advice, you will be able to face the challenges of the event photographing like a true professional.
Keep Yourself Ready and Organized
Prepare and check all the gear that you will need thoroughly a day or several days before the event is scheduled. You cannot ignore any detail, nor should you leave anything behind that you may need to use during the event.
Always Carry Extra Accessories with You
If something happens during the event and the photos cannot be taken it will still be your fault. Our advice is to always carry spare parts for everything. A second camera body, a second flash, more than one lens, more than 2 batteries, and a few memory cards. Always be prepared for anything and surely you will be more relaxed.
By arriving early enough, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and the places where you will be taking the photos. Just like landscape photography, check the light, see what lenses you will use in each situation, and make sure whether or not you will need extra lighting, among other details.
Event photography, just like any other discipline, practice makes perfect. The more you work at it, the better your end results will be, and with a smaller amount of effort and hassle.
